"As a long term sufferer of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and with a history of Migraines, I decided to try Reflexology to see if the symptoms of these could be lessened. After just a few visits, I was aware that the IBS was less painful and bowel movement was more regular, and Migraine headaches were replaced by normal headaches and much more infrequent. After just a couple more treatments, the headaches have disappeared, and the IBS is barely noticeable. A big thank you to reflexology, I shall certainly encourage others to try it."

"Adrienne was recommended to me by a friend who had just completed a successful programme of IVF. Due to start IVF myself I decided to give it a go. Several months later, I am extremely happy to say my treatment was successful.
We are both convinced that Adrienne and her techniques helped us cope with the drugs and procedures if not with the actual end result. Neither of us suffered any side effects and we found the whole IVF experience was relatively stress free. Ladies at the same clinic who were not having reflexology were struggling to cope with their treatment.
I really looked forward to my weekly sessions and Adrienne was extremely supportive throughout. I thoroughly recommend Adrienne to anyone with fertility problems or undergoing any kind of fertility treatment."

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is Reflexology?
A. The ancient art of Reflexology has been known to man for many thousands of years. It was first practised by the American Indians, Chinese and Egyptian people.
More recently, early in the 20th Century, Dr William Fitzgerald, an American ENT specialist, developed an early form of reflexology which he called Zone Therapy, in which the body is divided into ten longitudinal zones (one for each toe or finger). These zones are like segments of the body and extend from the toes, up through the legs and body to the brain and then down the arms to the fingers and thumbs. Dr Fitzgerald found that, whichever parts of the body were in a particular zone, there was a flow of energy that linked them.
This was further developed by Eunice Ingham, who realised that these ten zones could be accessed via the feet and hands. She mapped the entire body onto the feet and found that, by applying pressure onto these "reflex" areas, this had a therapeutic effect on the corresponding parts of the body in that zone. And this is how Reflexology, as it is known today, has evolved.
It is a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable experience - most people really love it and look forward to their sessions. And, because the pressure used is quite firm, it's definitely not ticklish!
Q. Why do people choose Reflexology?
A. Those who prefer to use natural, non-invasive, ways to improve their health often choose Reflexology as a superb way of achieving this. They find it not only benefits their overall health, but also that it's unbelievably relaxing and enjoyable. It's also suitable for all ages, from the very young to the very senior.
There are, however, a few contra-indications, ie:
- Thrombosis or phlebitis
- if a heart pacemaker is fitted,
- high risk pregnancy.
Q. How does it work?
A. Unless permanent damage has been done, the body has the ability to heal itself. When there is illness, disease, stress or injury present, the body is in a state of imbalance. It is believed reflexology can harness the body's ability to balance itself and, using energy pathways in the body, it gently stimulates the body to restore itself to good health. But don't just take my word for it! Have a quick read of the testimonials from those who have benefited (go to the Testimonials button).
Q. How long does a treatment last?
A. Normal length treatments on the feet last approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. The first treatment usually lasts 1 and 1/4 to 1½ hours, which allows time for the medical history to be taken. Subsequent treatments typically last about 1 - 1¼ hours, and this includes time for feedback and discussion on progress.
Shorter, quick treatments take about 30-35 mins. Good for those with less time to spare, or wanting to keep the cost down.
Q. Where can the treatments take place?
A. They can either take place at my home in Stone, or a home visit can be arranged if you can't get to me (I do have to make an extra charge if you require this, see below). I am normally available most weekdays, daytime or evenings.
If either of the above is convenient for you, then I will be happy to arrange an appointment at wherever suits you best.
Q. How much will it cost?
A. The cost for a full treatment is £29.
Shorter, quick treatments: £19.
If you require a home visit, there will be an extra charge of 25p per mile, with a minimum charge of £2.50
